Asheville Furniture Company Wins a 2017 GOOD DESIGN Award

ASHEVILLE, N.C., December 20, 2017 - Brian Boggs Chairmakers  Inc. is pleased to announce their Sculpted Fanback Arm Chair has won a 2017 GOOD DESIGN™ Award.  

Originally designed by Brian Boggs in 1997, the Sculpted Fanback chair waited almost 17 years to go into full production. The evolution of our joinery and production systems allowed for its rebirth in this improved form. The pinnacle of craftsmanship and ergonomic design, this chair uses some tricky engineering to produce comfort, flexibility and elegance, setting this chair above the rest. 

The Sculpted Fanback Arm Chair joins our Grand Lily Arm Chair in its recognition by the GOOD DESIGN™ Award. Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN™ remains the oldest, most prestigious and recognized program for design excellence worldwide.

For 2017, the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies received submissions from several thousand of the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from around the world representing the most important and critical mass of influential corporations worldwide in the design industry from over 55 countries.
