Allstate Agencies Look to Hire Military Veterans & Spouses, Announces New Program, Career Fair to Coincide with Veteran’s Day

BOTHELL, Wash., Nov. 8, 2017 — Veteran's Day is fast approaching and Allstate Insurance Company announced today its continued advocacy to hire Veterans or current Service Members and Spouses.  “These individuals have demonstrated commitment, resourcefulness and integrity on behalf of our country – invaluable characteristics Allstate Agencies seek when looking for new talent,” says HR Manager Jeff Mowell.

Allstate's National Veteran's Program offers the opportunity to build a solid career with an Allstate Agency, and a good life to go with it.  Allstate will teach transitioning job seekers how to build résumés and interview — valuable skills that military veterans and spouses can use to kick start a new career. Participants that complete Allstate's education course qualify upon passing the licensing exam to earn a $500 completion bonus. In addition, Agents will receive funds to reimburse staff for insurance licensing test and application fees.

On a local level, Agents particularly passionate about the cause will be partnering with Seattle's USO Center for Innovation on December 7th for an Employment Readiness Workshop. Agents and other Allstate employees will be on site for tips on hiring insights, professional networking and interview preparation.

Transitioning Veterans or Veteran spouses considering a new career direction can network and learn more about the Allstate opportunity at two upcoming career fairs:

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
