Allied Telecom Group (Allied), a leading single source provider of Internet, Data Transport, Voice and Unified Communications services, today announced that Robyn Smith has been appointed to the role of Senior Vice President, Operations. A telecommunications veteran with 30 years of extensive experience, Ms. Smith brings valuable operational leadership to Allied during a pivotal time of expansion into new markets in the Northeast Region and Mid-Atlantic Corridor.

As Senior Vice President of Operations, Ms. Smith will assume responsibility for ensuring operational excellence across the areas of service delivery, network operations, network planning, field operations, procurement, vendor relations, and client experience.

Prior to joining Allied, Ms. Smith served as the Vice President of Service Delivery at Fusion, a publicly-traded nationwide telecom service provider. Prior to Fusion, Ms. Smith was Director of Customer Operations for Covad Communications, where she was responsible for Eastern U.S. VoIP provisioning and support. She previously held the positions of Vice President of Service Delivery and Vice President of Operations for national business broadband service provider DSL.net. Ms. Smith’s career in telecommunications began with Cable & Wireless, where she spent over 15 years in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of voice and data ordering, provisioning, sales support, and service delivery. While with Cable & Wireless, Ms. Smith was the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Achievement.
