Addnode Group acquires software company inPort and becomes the Nordic region’s leading provider of logistics solutions for ports

Addnode Group has acquired software company InPORT Intelligent PORT Systems AB (“inPort”) that develops logistics solutions for ports, terminals and shipping companies. The company is the Nordic region's leading supplier in its market segment and has a net sales of approximately SEK 25 million.

inPort has over 25 years of experience in implementing and integrating advanced logistics solutions to its customers. The company's proprietary software suite PORTIT is used by over 90 percent of the Swedish port companies. In recent years, the company has achieved great success outside Sweden's borders, and today there are Nordic logistics hubs such as Copenhagen and Stavanger on the customer list.

-   Our ports play a societal role in view of its importance for modern sustainable logistics chains and a well-functioning import and export business. With inPort onboard, Addnode Group strengthens its position as a leading provider of software solutions to sustainable cities and communities, says Andreas Wikholm, President for Addnode Group Process Management.

-   We are very pleased to be part of Addnode Group. We are clearly better equipped to serve customers in both the Nordic region and the rest of Europe. In addition, I see strong synergies in areas like GIS and 3D visualization where Addnode Group is market leader, says Tord Svanqvist, CEO of InPort.

Completion will take place on January 2, 2018 and inPort will be part of Addnode Group's Process Management Division.

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
