A&C Plastics, Faulk Foundation, Give Back to Houston for Holiday Season

Volunteers from A&C Plastics & The Faulk Foundation Give Back to the Houston Community

The volunteers and I are just proud to do our part, and we hope that what we did on Saturday will make the holidays that much happier for those we help.

Houston, TX

The holiday season is approaching, and many residents of Houston have yet to fully recover from the devastation created by Hurricane Harvey in late August. To make the holidays more pleasant for families in the region, the Faulk Foundation, with help from A&C Plastics, organized a toy and supply drive for those who registered for help from the 501c3 charitable organization.

The Foundation was created by Carolyn Faulk, the owner of A&C Plastics. A&C Plastics and the Faulk Foundation have already helped more than a thousand individuals in and around Houston. Despite doing so much already, Carolyn believes that a special event was also necessary to help those who might have a hard time providing a happy holiday for their families.

“The holidays can be a difficult time of year for the less fortunate,” says Faulk, “and it's been more difficult this year for those who are still recovering from the hurricane. I proudly call Houston home, and we want to do whatever we can to help this city and its people get back on their feet.”

“The connections we've made with other businessmen and women in the area really proved helpful in putting this event together,” adds Jessica Calderon, Executive Director. “It turns out that there were plenty of folks around here who were just as interested in helping out as we are, and their assistance in terms of both organization and donations has really increased the amount of goods we were able to give away.”

The drive took place on December 16th at 9:30 AM at the offices of the Faulk Foundation, located at 6111 Heffernan Street in South Houston. Over 200 people benefitted from the distribution of gifts and supplies, which, as of the time of writing, were as follows:

●    Approximately 150 mattresses
●    More than $10,000 in traditional and grocery gift cards
●    More than $50,000 in household goods, including toys and bedding

Faulk, Calderon, and 70 additional volunteers were present at the drive, assisting in the distribution of goods, toys, and necessities. Chick-Fil-A also donated to the drive and provided a free breakfast to individuals there to receive assistance.

“We don't feel that we're doing anything special,” says Faulk. “Ever since the hurricane hit, we've seen people all over the city doing what they can to help their friends and neighbors. The volunteers and I are just proud to do our part, and we hope that what we did on Saturday will make the holidays that much happier for those we help.”
