FORT SMITH DENTIST COMPLETES HIGH-LEVEL CONTINUED EDUCATION COURSE AT WORLD CLASS CENTER

Dr. Charles Liggett, of River Valley Smile Center, a leading dental practice in Fort Smith, Ark., completed a course in advanced functional occlusion conducted by the Kois Center in Seattle.

The course taught on the similarities and the differences between the various occlusal philosophies while expanding on the concepts introduced in prior, prerequisite courses. The objectives of the course included: to learn new techniques, technologies, and materials to stage and segment complex cases, to identify and categorize temporomandibular joint disorders into diagnostic subgroups and implement a treatment plan appropriate to the severity of the clinical findings, to learn multiple techniques to obtain centric relation as a restorative reference position and much more.

Dr. Liggett will pursue one more course in order to complete the post graduate continuum and graduate from the Kois Center program. The Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners requires Arkansas licensed dentists to fulfill 50 credit units every two years; Dr. Liggett has far exceeded the requirement.

Dr. Liggett pursues continued education in order to guarantee patients receive current, excellent care. Dr. Liggett has been community-oriented throughout his professional career: conducting nearly a dozen dental mission trips, founding the Weekend Dental Clinic and Free Extraction Day (which provides those in need with free or affordable dental care), organizing discussions for the local dental community to better recognize/prevent child abuse and more.

The Kois Center is a didactic and clinical program, located on the shore of Lake Union in the heart of Seattle, with the latest advances of esthetics, implant and restorative dentistry.
