Russia Took the First Place in the Team Scoring at the WorldSkills World Championship 2017 in Professional Mastery in Abu Dhabi

Russia has confirmed its leadership in six professions. It is the members of the WorldSkills Russia national team in the competencies of IT solutions for Business, Web Development, Jewellery, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems, Network and System Administration, and Freight forwarding, who received the gold medals.

Russia won four silver medals in such competencies as Mobile Robotics, Hairdressing, Visual Merchandising and Window Dressing, and Truck Maintenance.

Russia got the only “bronze” for the competence of Stone-Cutting. The Best of Nation award as the best representative of the country was awarded to the owner of the gold medal for web development, Konstantin Larin from Chelyabinsk.

In addition to traditional medals, the Russian team won 21 medallions for professionalism. Such awards in the WorldSkills championships are awarded to the contestants, who completely coped with the task and showed a high-quality intermediate level of the professional training.

The competitions were held from 14 to 19 October at the Adnec International Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi. In the world championship 1300 participants from 77 countries of the world took part. On the whole 52 competencies were presented at the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. The Russian national team took part in all disciplines for the first time.

The WorldSkills Russia national team, consisting of 58 contestants, represents its country for the third time in the world championship: for the first time Russia performed at the World Championships in 2013 in Leipzig, and in the second in Brazilian São Paulo, from where it returned home with 6 medallions for professionalism.

World Championship WorldSkills Competition will be held in Russia in 2019. This decision was taken at the voting of the General Assembly at the World Championships in São Paulo in 2015. Kazan has bypassed Paris and the Belgian Charleroi.
