Helping North Carolina homeless Start Over

DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA – 09-28-2018 (PRDistribution.com) — Start Over has just launched their brand and mission to help address homelessness in North Carolina in a big way! Start Over is fostering life-enriching relationships, providing life-coaching, facilitating remedial education, and assisting with family-reunification for those in the homeless community.

The founder, David Smith, served as a Sr. Pastor for over 27 years, but in 2010 he felt an urgency in his heart to look in his own backyard and go to downtown Durham, NC, looking for anyone that was hurting or struggling. He didn’t just want to be a non-profit that only donated resources , he wanted to be hands-on. His conviction blossomed into Start Over’s “Meet me at the Bridge” campaign.  These events are an opportunity to provide food, clothing and other resources to these hurting people where they live, on the streets. It has since expanded to a regular event each Wednesday and one Saturday a month, as well as one Saturday a month in Charlotte, NC.Start Over is truly a unique organization, not only helping those that are in need but also helps connect those in need with other supporting resources  in the community. During the fall season they will launch some exciting events that will give you the chance to participate and support the financial needs of the organization. Through October 11, you can purchase a tee shirt that portrays an image of a sunrise and the tagline of the non-profit:  “It’s never too late to start over”.  This shirt is starting at $21.99 plus shipping and handling, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to purchasing resources for the homeless.  With such a rich history,  it is no accident that this organization is growing quickly and gaining followers and helpers daily. Start Over: Start Over is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to aid homeless and at-risk people on the city streets. Our goal is to help them come out of an existence of helplessness and despair and into a joyous and productive life. We are a registered  501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.Contact information:Phone: 919-210-8504E-mail: [email protected]https://www.startovertoday.org/

About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
