Greenberg Traurig Continues Strategic Growth of Corporate Practice with Addition of Oliver Olah and Breton Permesly

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to grow its Corporate Practice with the strategic addition of shareholders Oliver Olah and Breton Permesly in New York. Before joining the firm, Olah and Permesly practiced at Vinson & Elkins and Kaufman Gildin & Robbins, respectively.

“One of our guiding principles has been to recruit attorneys in response to client needs,” said Alan I. Annex, co-chair of the Global Corporate Practice at Greenberg Traurig. “Oliver’s cross-border private equity and M&A experience is an asset to our clients in the global marketplace and Bret’s domestic and international franchise practice further strengthens our existing capabilities in this growing area of private equity.”

Olah focuses his practice on domestic and cross-border private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, equity investments, and general corporate representation across a variety of industries, including financial institutions, funds, venture capital, energy, natural resources, infrastructure, and consumer products with a particular focus on U.S./European inbound and outbound transactional matters. Olah received his J.D., magna cum laude, from LMU Munich School of Law, his L.L.M. from Columbia University School of Law, and his Diploma in Legal Studies from the University of Oxford.

“It was important for me to join a firm with the reach and platform that Greenberg Traurig offers,” Olah said. “Having the ability to draw upon a network of lawyers and the many resources at the firm will allow me to navigate clients through their most complex legal challenges across the globe.”

Permesly concentrates his practice on domestic and international franchising, licensing, and distribution matters. He represents existing franchise industry leaders as well as cutting edge startup concepts in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, fast food and quick service concepts, retail, hospitality, and leisure. Permesly also acts as a trusted advisor to private equity concerns and investors buying and selling franchise systems. Permesly received his J.D., cum laude, from Florida State University and his B.A., cum laude, from Washington and Lee University.

“As companies grow, they rely more on firms that can address their legal needs on a global scale,” Permesly said. “Greenberg Traurig’s depth of services and international offices are what attracted me to the firm and my clients will greatly benefit from the firm’s resources.”

“The addition of Oliver and Bret is part of our strategic vision of recruiting and hiring talented lawyers to address the needs of our clients,” the firm’s New York office Co-Managing Shareholders Nancy A. About the Author: Carrie Brunner

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children. Carrie writes mostly on provincial stories.
