Cash for Candy – Image Orthodontics Takes a Stand Against Sweets This Halloween

Image Orthodontics is offering to purchase children’s Halloween candy for $1 per pound. The Blue Star Moms and Move America Forward will help process, repack and ship the collected candy to US service men and women serving overseas.

Sacramento, CA, October 19, 2017 —- Image Orthodontics is once again holding its annual Halloween candy buy-back program, November 1 – 3, 2017.

This is the fourth year that Image Orthodontics has offered the program which is designed to accomplish two goals. First, the program entices young patients to donate candy that might be harmful to their orthodontics and secondly it encourages children to give back by donating their candy to the men and women serving our country overseas.

“Offering the buy-back program serves a couple of purposes for us,” said owner Dr. Yan Kalika, “It removes the temptation for patients to eat sticky, chewy candy that can damage their braces or liners, and it gives us a chance to show our soldiers that we acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices they make to keep us free and safe.”

“Candy such as taffy, caramel and other chewy sweets can break or bend wires, pull brackets off of teeth, and damage fixed retainers,” said Dr. Benson Wong, Image Orthodontic’s Westborough office orthodontist.

The program is easy. Any trick-o-treater or patient can come into our participating practices from November 1-3, 2017. Our staff will weigh the child’s candy and give each child $1 for every pound of candy they bring in.

Image Orthodontics has partnered with two amazing non-profits for the candy donation, Blue Star Moms and Move America forward. Both organizations exist to serve our country’s service men and women and all the candy collected from our candy buy-back program will be collected, processed and sent to our troops.
