Herbalife Nutrition Hong Kong and Po Leung Kuk Set New World Record in Launching Healthy Active Lifestyle Mobile App

HONG KONG–Herbalife Nutrition Hong Kong and the charity organization Po Leung Kuk set a new world record, with “the most people launching a Healthy Active Lifestyle mobile app together.” The world record-breaking event, held at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, brought together 1,015 people interested in living a healthy, happy and active lifestyle. Together, they launched the new mobile app that includes BMI measurement, aerobic dance, healthy recipes and balanced nutrition information.

“Through the launch of the Healthy Active Lifestyle mobile app, we hope to provide a tool to help people adopt positive nutrition and lifestyle habits in daily living. We believe these simple lifestyle habits can have significant benefits to our overall well-being in the long run,” said Steven Sze, General Manager of Herbalife Nutrition Hong Kong and Macau.

To empower teenagers with knowledge of healthy active lifestyle and computer programming, Herbalife Nutrition Hong Kong sponsored Po Leung Kuk to hold a mobile app course for students from 16 primary and secondary schools. The course was conducted at Po Leung Kuk Cheung Hong Youth Development Centre during the summer.

The Healthy Active Lifestyle mobile app launch and the mobile app course are the latest co-operations between Herbalife Nutrition and Po Leung Kuk. Since 2013, Herbalife Family Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to improving nutrition for children in need, has been supporting Po Leung Kuk Cheung Hong Youth Development Centre to implement “The World of Healthy Growth” program. This aims to boost students’ and parents’ awareness of the importance of healthy breakfast. To date, more than 14 schools have participated in the program, benefitting 2,000 students.

Carrie Brunner grew up in a small town in northern New Brunswick. She studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married her husband one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
