The presentations introduce GSI’s Associative Processing Unit (APU) chip architecture that is well-suited to many machine learning tasks such as one-shot/few-shot learning, convolutional neural networks, recommender systems, data mining, and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Unlike conventional deep neural networks (DNN) that require a lot of labeled data to train on and are not good at generalizing from limited examples, the APU efficiently learns similarly to how humans learn—namely using only a few examples (few-shot learning).
