BEIRUT, LEBANON, December 08, 2017 — David Atallah has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr Atallah is an associate professor at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and fulfills the position of gynecologic oncologist and breast surgeon in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Hotel-Dieu de France University Hospital.
With nearly 20 years of professional excellence in his field, Dr. Atallah has served as a representative of the Board of the Lebanese Medical Journal in Beirut since 2007 and he is regularly consulted for reviewing articles in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Annals of Surgical Oncology and Trials. Earlier in his career, he worked as an anatomy instructor for the Lebanese University School of Physiotherapy and the Salpetriere University School of Nursing. Additionally, he has lent his expertise to the Lebanese Gynecologic Oncologic Group as vice president since 2014. He is founder and board member of both MEMAGO and PARSGO. He is an active member of numerous international societies including: ESGO, IGCS, ASCO, SGO, ICS, SFSPM.
Dr. Atallah has completed coursework and held residencies with several hospitals, including St. Joseph University Medical School, the Hotel Dieu de France University Hospital, and at Salpetriere University Hospital. He has more than 15 years of professional excellence in gynecologic oncology and breast cancer fields after finishing his fellowship at one of the well-known cancer centers in the world, Institut Gustave Roussy comprehensive cancer center, Villejuif, France. In 2000, he earned a fellowship from the European Society of Surgical Oncology. He has diplomas and has held fellowships in numerous fields of medicine, including clinical cancer research, visceral surgery, vaginal surgery, breast cancer and reconstructive surgery, surgical oncology, urodynamics, colposcopy and cervico-vaginal pathology and in urogynecology and pelvic floor dysfunction. He is licensed to practice medicine in Lebanon, has an ECFMG certification in the United States, and has completed fellowships in France.
Throughout his career, Dr. Atallah has contributed his knowledge to numerous articles in professional journals as both an author and reviewer. Till now he has published more than 85 articles and participated actively in more than 45 regional and international medical meetings and congresses by presenting posters or oral communications. He has also been recognized many times for his professional accomplishments. In addition to earning grants through Saint Joseph University (Beirut, Lebanon) and the Ligue Nationale Contre Le Cancer (France), he won the Best Thesis Award in 1993 for his outstanding work. In the near future, he aims to expand upon his research.
And last but not least, Dr Atallah is involved in clinical researches and earned a master degree in Science in clinical research administration from the University of Liverpool, UK. His works and researches are focused in advanced surgeries and translational research in ovarian cancer. He initiated fresh frozen tumor banking at Saint Joseph University. Moreover, he is participating in research on HPV and cervical cancer in Lebanon.
